Since its inception, city pr, inc. does not work with clients or projects that we do not resonate with, can not wrap our heads around or are not able to connect with. We have found that the results we get are far better when we work with the people, projects and events that we love. Rather than just doing it for the money or for the fame of working with a particular brand, if we can’t love it, we can’t service it! We are honest, almost to a fault, but we’d rather work less and remain honest and true, than be dishonest with our clients.
Founder: phillip nakov
Phillip is the founder and chief buzz maker at city pr, inc. Born in Flushing, Queens, to immigrant parents who fled from behind the Iron Curtain (Poland and Bulgaria), Phillip grew up surrounded by music, art, books, science, culture, foreign languages and international cuisine. He developed a love for film, television, travel and languages from a young age and has always tried to maintain a balance between all of his passions.
Aside from being on a ship cruising the ocean blue, Phillip would rather be in a movie theater or at his desk writing a press release, submitting a pitch for a client or working on one of his latest projects. Also a fan of art, design and architecture, Phillip studied at the Sorbonne in Paris, France while pursuing dual degrees in International Relations and French from the University of Southern California. Fluent in both written and spoken French, being bilingual has had its perks especially when traveling with clients to the Cannes Film Festival or to MIP. As the principal of the agency, Phillip leads the accounts and is point person for each client. Depending on the size, scope and budget of each project, when needed, Phillip calls on a roster of skilled, talented publicists, social media experts, photographers, videographers, designers, web designers, and others to assist him with staffing for events, press days, premieres, red carpets, photo shoots, product launches and at other times when additional help is needed. But rest assured, Phillip is a hands-on leader and will always be part of every event from start to finish. From first call till wrap, city pr is your one-stop shop!
