Meet Phillip Nakov.
Phillip Nakov is the founder and principal of City PR, bringing more than two decades of experience across film, television, digital media, culture, and live events.
Born in Flushing, Queens to immigrant parents from Poland and Bulgaria, Phillip grew up immersed in storytelling, art, music, languages, and global culture. That curiosity shaped a lifelong passion for film, television, travel, and creative collaboration. He studied at the Sorbonne in Paris while earning dual degrees in International Relations and French from the University of Southern California and is fluent in French, a skill that has served him well working internationally with clients and festivals.
Phillip is deeply hands-on, serving as lead strategist and primary point of contact on every account. Depending on the scope of a project, he assembles trusted teams of publicists, social media strategists, designers, photographers, videographers, and digital specialists, but remains actively involved from first conversation through final wrap.
Whether launching a film, guiding a festival run, managing talent visibility, or shaping the narrative around a cultural project, City PR functions as a true one-stop partner, blending experience, instinct, and creativity to help stories find the audience they deserve.
